HOW WE PICK PRODUCTS
A small win has to earn its place.
We start with a recurring annoyance, then ask whether a specific product makes that moment easier without hiding the catch.
1. Start with friction
The starting point is a concrete task: scraping the last spoonful, keeping a page open, sorting tiny repair parts, or cleaning a small patch of pet hair. General popularity is not enough.
2. Check the listing
We use the linked official product page or retailer listing for the product name, variant, listed price, and basic specifications. Exact price, seller, fulfillment, and variant details can change, so the listing still needs checking before purchase.
3. Separate fact from judgment
Facts are labeled as source or listing details. Why a product may help, who it may fit, and where it stops are editorial judgments. We do not describe research as hands-on testing.
4. Keep risk visible
A product with a model, seller, safety, or category-link gap can remain in the directory for research, but it should not be framed as a Featured pick. Some items are hidden from public display until their direct product evidence is stronger.
5. Keep the price honest
The site’s under-$25 framing means the listed item or stated pack price before tax and shipping. It is not a delivered-total guarantee, a lowest-price claim, or a promise that a price will stay put.
6. Review the edit
When a listing changes or a reader flags a problem, the product can be corrected, reclassified, or removed. Inventory fluctuations are treated as a current-listing reminder, not as a permanent editorial verdict.
